Health Care Administration Assessment Tool
The development of a self-assessment tool to help prospective students determine whether a health care administration major and career is a good fit for them. Outcomes: The tool was endorsed by the American College of Health Care Administrators. Research was presented at the Midwest Business Administration Association. Health Care Coverage and Concerns in Western Wisconsin
An interdisciplinary effort to explore and analyze the health care coverage and health concerns of Western Wisconsin residents. Outcomes: Results will be disseminated to state legislators and the general public to help inform the current debate regarding health care reform. The Role of the Director of Nursing
A project that describes the current challenges of the director of nursing role in the health and aging services field. Outcomes: The study has been expanded to a second national study. Resident Relocation Outcomes
A project that examines what happens when nursing homes close and residents must be relocated. Outcomes: Research was presented in several venues and has been submitted for publication to the Journal of Applied Gerontology. Best Practices of AHCA Quality Award Winners
An analysis of the quality practices of American Health Care Association (AHCA) Step 2 Quality Award recipients and the identification of themes common to the organizations in the pursuit of their quality programs. Outcomes: Research was presented at the AHCA 2004 fall meeting and published in the April 2005 edition of Provider, a magazine for long term care professionals. Partnerships in Health Care Administration
CHAASE helps make it possible for UW-Eau Claire faculty to enhance and develop connections with the National Association of Boards of Examiners of Long Term Health Administrators (NAB) and the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) as well as Minnesota and Wisconsin professional health care association.
The Center also supports educational forums, such as the Health Care and Quality Forums, educational partnerships, such as the University of Minnesota chair for long term care, and ongoing communications with UW-Eau Claire HCAD alumni and CHAASE friends.
